4th Grade Prayers
We have been working on the "Law of Love", "Ten Commandments", and are starting "Eight Beatitudes".
Eight Beatitudes
1. Happy are those who are poor in spirit; the kingdom of God belongs to them.
2. Happy are those who mourn; God will comfort them.
3. Happy are those who humble; they will receive what God will has promised.
4. Happy are those who do what God wants; God will satisfy them fully.
5. Hapy are those who are merciful to others; God will have mercy on them.
6. Happy are the pure in heart; they will see God.
7. Happy are those who work for peace; they will be called children of God.
8. Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God wants; the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.
Law of Love
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
The Ten Commandments
1. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of slavery. Worship no god except Me.
2. You shall not misuse the Name of the Lord your God.
3. Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day.
4. Honor your father and your mother.
5. You shall not kill.
6. You shall not commit adultery.
7. You shall not steal.
8. You shall not tell lies against your neighbor.
9. You shall not want to take your neighbor's wife or husband.
10. You shall not want to take your neighbor's possessions.
Corporal Works of Mercy - Ways we care for one another's physical needs.
Spiritual Works of Mercy - Ways we care for one another's spiritual needs.
Gifts of the Holy Spirit - These seven gifts help us to live and witness to our Catholic faith.
Sorrowful Mysteries
1.The Agony in the Garden Our Lord prayed for strength to drink the cup of suffering, to suffer, die and rise for us.
2.The Scourging at the Pillar Our Lord was cruelly scourged. He accepted pain so we would never suffer too much.
3.The Crowning with Thorns Jesus accepted being crowned with thorns so we would not be afraid to be laughed at.
