EMAIL GUIDELINES When using email kindly follow these guidelines: ** Do not expect an immediate reply ** For medical or health concerns, please contact the school nurse by phone. ** Keep all contacts professional. Jokes, stories, chain letters or commercial solicitations are innapropriate and reduce valuable teaching time. ** Always identify yourself in the subject line of the email. Add the name of your child if appropriate.
ALSO REMEMBER: 1. Continue to follow school policy. Do not send messages informing a teacher that your child is out sick, etc. For example, when a child is sick, school policy is to call the office and send an attendance note--do not substitute an email for this procedure. 2. The academic progress, learning expectations, behaviorial issues of a child should never be addressed through email. A phone conversation or personal conference will be more meaningful and effective. 3. Confidential information should be conveyed by phone or personal contact, not email. 4. Teachers read their email at various times during the day, such as before school or after school. For this reason you may not receive an immediate reply. 5. Teachers may choose to contact you by phone, personal contact or email depending on the content of an email. Adapted from Central Bucks School District |
